Model No. 4-A Tru-Bal™ BATTLE BLADE Throwing Knife by Harry K. McEvoy

Tru-Bal Model No. 4 BATTLE BLADE I Purchased on eBay

This is a Tru-Bal Model No. 4-A I won on eBay in February of 2009 from the same gentleman I purchased a Model No.70 from. I bid on it because I did not already have a Model No. 4 that was made by Harry. This model wasn’t being made in 1983 and 1984 when I was purchasing Tru-Bal throwing knives. The one that was being made then was the Model No. 4-B BATTLE BLADE COMBAT THROWER. So I had to have this one.

Model No. 70 Tru-Bal™ PRO-THROW Throwing Knife by Harry K. McEvoy

This is a Tru-Bal Model No. 70 I won on eBay in February of 2009. I bid on it because I did not already have a Model No. 70 that was made by Harry. This model wasn’t being made in 1983 and 1984 when I was purchasing Tru-Bal throwing knives. It was in excellent condition for a knife that the seller claimed was from the mid 1970’s.

Model No. 2 Tru-Bal™ BOWIE-AXE Throwing Knife by Harry K. McEvoy

This knife was hand-made by Harry K. McEvoy, founder of the Tru-Balance Knife Company. I bought it from him in the early 1980’s.

I took his standard leather sheath apart and rebuilt it to form-fit the Bowie-Axe. I added custom fringe and a nice basket-weave design.

Catalog Description (from when I bought it in the early 1980’s) :

The Tru-Bal BOWIE-AXE has been sold world-wide since 1959. It has achieved world fame as an all-purpose throwing, game hunting, camping, chopping, combat and survival knife. Handmade after initial shaping of specially tempered spring steel, it will stand up to a lifetime of rugged use. Overall length is 13 1/2″, width 2″, thickness 3/16″, and weight 15 oz. Handle slabs of tough vulcanized fibre secured with extra heavy rivets. Strong handcrafted leather sheath and instruction sheets included.
